Sauna experience and culture differs from person to person. It should be a pleasant and relaxing experience for everyone. It’s not about the hotter you go – the better. Here are some tips from doing sauna my whole life, please adjust to your liking and expeirence:

I like temperatures: 70-90 C (150 F to 190 F)

I like to do 3 sessions at about 10-15 minutes each but this varies on temp and how I am feeling.

#1 Make sure you’re properly hydrated before, during, and after Sauna use. Sweating removes a lot of electrolytes from your body, so re-plenish those.

#2 It’s best not to do it on a full stomach.

#3 Alcohol should not be used during sauna – have one after!

#4 Listen to your body. Don’t be a hero. It’s not a competition.

#5 Remove your shoes prior to entering the steam room 🙂 and have fun!
